Low-cost counselling for Cinderford residents.

I am a firm believer that counselling should be available to more than just the most well-off in society. While we, as counsellors, have to charge what we do in order to cover all our costs, such as insurance, supervision, additional learning and therapy rooms and still make a living, I know that this makes therapy unaffordable for many folk. NHS waiting lists can be long and local mental health organisations are doing their best, but there is always space for more provision. Due to accessing a low-cost therapy space, and with a desire to add something positive to our local community, I am offering 4 spaces for Cinderford (and surrounding area) based clients at a reduced price. The service is the same, just offered at a special price to those in my home town.

Who is this for?

This service is for anyone living in Cinderford or the surrounding areas who would like to access counselling but is held back by financial circumstanses.

Do I need a referral to access this service?

No, you can self-refer. Just get in touch via email, telephone, or the contact form on the booking page.

How do I know if I'm eligible?

If you feel you can benefit from counselling, but have been unable to due to financial considerations, then this scheme is for you! I will not be questioning you about your finances or doing a means test. I trust that any potential clients who are able to afford the regular price will not take a space that a less financially well off person could benefit from.

Where and when do the sessions take place?

Sessions take place in Rheola House (just near the Library) on a Thursday afternoon. It may be possibe to do online sessions if access is difficut for you, just get in touch and let me know your needs.

What is the cost and how many sessions will I have?

The cost of each session is £30, payable weekly or in blocks of two or three. Initially there are six sessions offered, extendable to 10 should there be a need and availability.
